Hi from snowy West Michigan. I am new here, and also new to AG. I have a few extra pods, what is the best way to store these? I would imagine temp, humidity, and light all come into play. Right now they are in a drawer, no light, temp at about 70 F, and low humidity, seeing that it is winter and very dry. Suggestions welcome! Second question..... The lettuce isn't uncontrollable YET, but I can see it just taking over the Bounty! Do you have any tricks to keep them more confined and growing tall? Thanks, Tim PS. I need to learn how to add a picture to these posts.

AS for the lettuce, after about 3 to 4 weeks it should be ready for its first harvest. It will regrow again for a few more meals. To post pictures, it is suggested that you use a photo repository like Flikr or another that allows you to post to forums. Please let us know if you have any other questions

Welcome Tim!
There are 2 ways you can harvest lettuce.
Some people prefer to give it a full haircut whereby you buzz off the top 2/3 of the plants/pods and consume it. The plants will grow back in 2 weeks for another harvest.
The other way way is to harvest the outermost biggest leaves of every pod as you go. This can help them not get too crowded.
It’s just whatever your preference is. The only rule is to not remove more than 2/3 of each pod at a time.

Beautiful! My wife and I have had a few great salads already, and YES Mary, I am doing like you say and trimming from the outside in.
Today I moved the tomatoes into a new Bounty, so they are all in one now. I did a rinse and refill on the herb Bounty and also on the lettuce Bounty. The strawberries Bounty is still doing great, with a lot of "green" (for right now) strawberries coming in. I also have noticed three long shoots coming up, do I need to do anything to these?
Thanks, Tim

I’ve never grown strawberries so can’t be helpful there. I love your profile pic, and I’m jealous you have 4 Bounties!
