It makes things super easy. All they need now for their premium machines is automagic PH and DTS monitoring. I've got quite a few things growing between the kits it came with and a grow your own kit so I could do cabbage and brussel sprouts. Not pictured to the right, a harvest and two aeroviors to move some of this to when it gets too crowded.

I love mine so far as well. However one of my sides has algae! Have you done a rinse and refill yet? The only instruction they give is “have a bucket or container ready”...I’d like to at least know before hand what the process is and where exactly the water drains from.

Welcome! I do not own a Farm but a few here do. I am sure someone will be able to answer your question when they come on the forum.
What are you growing? Also, let me ask are all the pod holes not in use covered? Where is the algae. in the water container area or on the pods themselves?

Basically, their instructions have you remove the little rubber aerogarden logo in the center of the grow deck, and stuff the included tube into it. That's the spout of the normal circulation pump. Turn the pump on, and it'll push the water out via the tube (which you have presumably put the other end of into the bucket).
It takes a while, but it's fairly foolproof.
As for algae, my standard response is to consider 5ml/gal of a 3% peroxide solution.

Dr. D.R. Banks, with a moniker like that you could be in a Bond film. : )

Also, let me ask are all the pod holes not in use covered? Where is the algae. in the water container area or on the pods themselves? Yep all the holes are covered and no algae in the pods. . It seems the algae is localized in the reservoir where you refill the water (this is where water is always exposed to light). I took a syringe and sucked out what I could and clear water replaced it so hopefully all the water in the basin is clear. I’m going to place a piece of cardboard over the reservoir now and hope that minimizes the issue.

They don’t have reservoir covers for the Farms? What an odd design. Good idea with the cardboard.

It is an overlap so you can't see down into the water on the farms. My aerovores keep the water fill level right below where you could see water if you look down in it. So I'm guessing if you are filling them manually you don't want to keep it so full that you can see water.

You know, I have had the same gripe with the Farm. The problem is lessened now that I have leaf cover.
Thanks for answering the question I hadn't asked yet about aerovoirs and the farm.
