So I was looking at my lettuces this morning and noticed that two of them have two different looking “burns” on the edges of the leaves. The Parris Island has black edges on the leaves positioned about 2 o’clock, 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock: The Black Seeded Simpson has white edges on the leaves positioned at about 6 o’clock and 7 o’clock: I used distilled water and only the recommended amount of nutrients when I first set it up (13 days ago). Did I do something wrong? Should I be concerned? Tomorrow instead of just adding nutrients, should I do a dump and refill?

I am no expert. But let me ask, were the domes on? What amount of nutes are you using?

The domes were on, but the as soon as the leaves started touching the domes i took them off. Only used the recommended amount of nutrients.

How much Nutes is that?
Also, domes need to be removed before the plants touch.

Was only 1 capful for the Sprout ... so it could have been just because those leaves touched the dome? If so, then I should be ok now that the domes are off ...

I can't remember but I think I have given less nutes to lettuce. Others can chime in on what they give them.

I got lettuce burn in my Farm even with the AG recommended amount of nutrients. I reduced the amount by 1/3 when I fed today, so we'll see if that does it.

I know people in the past have joked that lettuce practically grows itself, so I think it can stand a wee bit less nutes than AG recommends. Especially in the tiny basin of the Sprout. But don’t worry, you haven’t hurt the plant any.
Can I ask, because I’m so new to the Sprout, does the bottle recommend the same amount as in the Harvest? I haven’t even fed my new Sprout pod yet so I haven’t had occasion to see.

Sprout is 4ml- half of what a harvest uses.

That makes sense. Hopefully I don’t blow it out of habit.
