So excited, I got two pods from AeroGarden in a white harvest for petunias and one snapdragon. One of the petunia pods didn’t germinate which is unfortunate but I had another harvest XL with purchased seeds. I did 4 pods on the XL: 3 easy e3 wave petunia mix pelleted 3 apple blossom dreams series pelleted 2 evening scentsations pelleted 1 tidal wave silver petunia pelleted
They’ve all sprouted. I was thinking if I should thin them but ended up moving two seedlings over to the harvest pod that didn’t germinate. So on average I have two seedlings in a pod apart from the tidal wave. Fingers crossed!
I’ve never grown petunias but just loved the varieties and that it’s relatively hardy and not poisonous and I heard they smell nice! I can’t wait 😊
Side note I’m also growing one heirloom AG tomato plant (poor other seedling that got thinned) and one AG Thai chili pepper plant I’m a Harvest XL
I have one more garden that I can’t decide if I’d want to grow herbs, lettuce or more flowers and that’s why I tend to feel the need for more gardens. Decisions are hard 😂

Ya can never have too many aerogardens!...
You'll love the petunias. They seem to grow well in an aerogarden.

A couple of days ago, I had to thin the tomato seedlings in my seed starter, and as usual I felt very bad about it. It's great that your petunias are coming along so well! I'm not crazy about pelleted seeds, which seem a bit reluctant to germinate. Did you sow them down inside the sponges, or on top?

Your petunia pics are actually goals for me! I hope mine is as abundant 😊

I'm not crazy about pelleted seeds, which seem a bit reluctant to germinate. Did you sow them down inside the sponges, or on top? Haha high 5! Interestingly my pelleted seeds germinated quicker than the Aerogarden petunia pods which isn’t pelleted. I read through this forum and the advice was to sow them on top so that’s what I did. The thing is, I got clumsy and a couple fell inside the sponge and they germinated fine - around the same time even. And more interestingly, a couple fell to the inner side of the top of the sponge (below the sticker) and it was a weird angle to get them out so I figured I’ll just leave them there coz they wouldn’t germinate anyway but they germinated as well!! So now I’m convinced pelleted seeds are no problemo 😂 after they germinated, really tiny I moved them to the empty pod that didn’t germinate and they‘re looking fine too. Fingers crossed they all grow well 😊

Just wanted to share my first bloom 😊😊😊 the Aerogarden pod kit greens leaves are so much more beautiful shaped (rounded) than the seeds I bought. However, the seed I bought bloomed first probably because I thinned this pod My leaves have some spots on it though. Do I need Cal-Mag? Also, how do I link pictures directly so it shows in the post? Thank you!

Beautiful petunia! Some Cal-Mag wouldn't hurt, but the plant looks very healthy in your photo.

Thank you! I’ll leave it as it is and see what happens (actually changed my mind, might try it out since I have a bottle on hand - was just hesitant because it’s organic cal mag and I read organic might have more residue). The Appleblossom petunias I got from True Leaf are thriving. Definitely recommend. The Aerogarden petunias should blossom this week and my tidal wave petunia is slowly blossoming too (I moved it to a tower hydroponic system instead). And most importantly (!!), my Evening Scentsations petunias are showing flower buds. Really excited about that one and looking forward to the scent. I was a little worried because the leaves are long and thin unlikely the other petunias. My E3 Wave from Park Seed was a little stunted in growth but I think after I moved the tidal wave out of my Aerogarden it’s catching up. Will share more pics once they blossom.

I love the Apple blossom colors in all flowers. I need to see what I have in my stash.
