Ended some gardens and planted various tomatoes!! Red velvet in the smaller gardens, and 1 red robin, 1 yellow choice patio in the farms. The Harvest that already have red velvets is doing well, and has given me lots of tasty treats so far!!

How much cal mag do you add to the tomatoes in the Aerogarden Harvest? Also do you use kool bloom or anything similar? If so how much would you add for a Harvest?

I don’t use anything but the AG nutrients, though I know others on here do - my plants have always grown well without extra nutrients so I’ve never experimented with them. Sorry! |

I am afraid to add too much or too little. I just follow the label instructions for CalMag and Koolbloom. I think they both call for 2.5-5 ml per gallon of water. That means a maximum 10 ml for a Farm, which has a 2-gallon bowl; 5 ml for a Bounty, about 1 gallon; and so on. I can't remember the size of the Harvest bowl right now, but I think that the AG web site includes the info in its product description. Start with the lower amounts stated in the range on the label, and add more as the plants mature, if it seems like a good idea. You need to add CalMag and Koolbloom at each R&R to get the benefit--or at least I do. I measure the amounts with dispensing needles. These work nicely because the long needles reach to the bottom of tall supplement bottles. |
