My tomato plants are growing big and now they require water every 4 days or so. Is it alright to wait for 24 hours while the low water warning is present before refilling the tank? I sometimes am out of town when it happens.

raymoose, If you're frequently out of town, you might want to invest in an Aerogarden Aerovoir (available from the AG web site or Amazon), which will keep your AG water bowl filled automatically. All of my plants love having a constant, unchanging water level! But to answer your question, most plants will survive for a day or two on a "low water" warning. However, what happens when the water level goes down to "medium" and "low", is that the plant roots are increasingly exposed. This is what the plants don't like. The older your plants are, the more roots they have in the water bowl, and the more roots are exposed with lower water levels. So it's best to add water whenever your AGs show a level other than "full".
