Today I finally got back to tending my AGs, and discovered that the pump wasn't working on a Farm 12XL. The banana pepper in it has been showing mottled leaves, but I thought it was only short on nutrients. Guess it wasn't getting enough air! Anyway, I wiggled the cords, and unplugged and replugged the garden, with no luck. But when I started to swap the grow deck into another Farm 12 XL that had only seedlings, I saw that water was spouting out of the tall pump outlet again. My guess is that pepper plant roots were blocking the pump somehow. BUT the display later went dark and pumping unexpectedly halted during the process of using the pump to drain the bowl. So there may be something wrong with the electronics in the hood after all. When I touched the dark display, the word "waking" appeared, and the normal display and pump operations returned after a few seconds. After an hour or so, everything still seems to be working normally. Has anyone else ever seen a "waking" message on an AG touchscreen display? Is it indicating a reboot? Is it signaling a coming circuit board failure?

I often get the “waking” message on my bounties. I’m up a lot in the middle of the night when the screen has shut down but nothing else is affected. If I want to do something I’ll touch the screen for it to wake. Otherwise it just turns back on when the light go on in the am. I guess it’s just a power saver.

I had the waking message the other day on a bounty for the first time also.
I just touched the screen and the message went away. Haven't seen it since.
I emailed aerogarden support and asked about the "waking up" message. As usual, they had no clue what I was talking about and sent me the canned response describing vacation mode. (Expletive deleted)
Have you used vacation mode much? My thought was that perhaps I inadvertently pressed vacation mode and didn't notice it for a day or so. It's reasonable that vacation mode would power down the lcd display. That might also explain the odd actions of the pump? maybe?

Thanks, patlab and scarfguy! No, I wasn't using vacation mode, but I was using the drain garden mode. It's encouraging to know that you folks have seen the message, because I didn't think that AGs ever slept. Last time a Farm 12XL pump stopped, AG sent me a whole new hood (under warranty). They do use enough power to be noticeable on your electric bill if you have several Bounties or Farms. I'm okay with that, because things grow so much more slowly in a Harvest. The more powerful lights make a lot of difference. It could be that AG is working on power conservation, though.

Oh No, I hate when that happens. I had a few times the roots encroached in the pump. That is one of the reasons why I turn my plants every few days to encourage a root balls.
I never noticed that message although I dont really look
