I can't understand what I see on the right lobe here. These are seeds from a "mixed salad" package so I don't know yet what specie this plant is. I usually put 2 seeds per pod, expecting at least one to sprout, so I assume there is the 2nd seed stuck to the left lobe on the picture, but what's the structure on the right lobe? And what to expect from it?

I have no idea, but my guess is that's the 2nd seed sprouting. The little brown thing on the right appears to be the seed casing (or whatever it's called). I get those stuck on seedlings all the time and usually they can be flicked off or just left alone.
Post an update as it grows; I'm curious about what it will do/become.

And what to expect from it? You know, there seem to be roots on the brown thing on the left, and leaves on the green thing on the right. Could it be that the leaves and roots on a second seedling were torn apart when the leaves on the lower seedling opened up completely? I do love a mystery!
