I thought I would always have an extra bounty when I wanted to grow the next thing. Finally ran out so I created a hybrid out of spare parts. Kinda funny looking but at least it works. I am trying to grow spinach indoors thanks to the posts from mike showing it is possible. Mikes progress is awesome mine, not so much yet. Using the Bounty base to turn the light(AG panel) on and, water pump in the farm bowl. Now I just need the spinach to take off. I think I am going to get some square tube for better support underneath the grow bowl. It's a start 20231222_192543 by bob

This is a very cool DIY unit! Love it. Are you trying to sprout the spinach in the pods in the unit itself? I would definitely follow Mike's method of using a paper towel and hydrogen peroxide solution. That's pretty much the only way I've ever been able to get spinach to germinate. You'll want to grow it in a cool room as well.

Waiting for them to stick their leaves up above the sponge, Then I will move them over to grow out here.

LoveSalads, How are the light and pump connected so that the Bounty base can control them?

LoveSalads , How are the light and pump connected so that the Bounty base can control them? www.amazon.com/dp/B001IZ0W5Y?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1that is the adapter for the current aerogarden light panel. Plugs right into power cable going to older pre 2019 bounty(hood) lights. The water pump plugs directly into the back of the bounty base. That way you need no separate light timer or, separate power supply and timer for the pump. So is kinda nice you can use bounty base to control your garden. One drawback no water level which for me I check daily when in mid grow so, no big deal.

Added some support/outriggers and split the spinach grow up to two gardens. Still not the final outcome I desire but, it is pretty stable. 20240105_164524

An excellent hybrid.
You could run a contest -- Name the hybrid garden -- Frankengarden? Frankenbounty? Frankenfarm? AlFrankenbountyfarm?

I am going to let you name it, My only thought when I put it together was lil farm b ,for little farm, bounty . totally lame I like Frankengarden. It has a nice trochaic bounce to it. Double, double, toil and trouble Frankengarden boil and bubble. But a google search reveals there are a lot of Frankengardens out there, so Frankenbounty is a more unique choice. It has the same bounce -- Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater. Doesn't rhyme with Frankenbounty.
