I started Cayenne Peppers today.
I started three pods of these and three pods of Poblano on the right side of a Farm Plus. Once the other side and two Bounties are fully cleaned, I will move them to their own individual gardens.
I'm holding off on nutes for a few days.

I have a loop in the other two pods, finally. I'm going to wait until Wednesday to move them to the other side. That is when they are due nutrients, next.

I was going to move the 3 Cayenne pepper plants to the left basin today. But there are some dried on stains I can't get off tonight. I will soak it another night. Meanwhile, I added 16 ml AG nutes.

These are doing fine. I think I'm going to top the large plant. It's already bushy enough, but I want to keep similar plant heights under the light. On the 4th, I will move the front left plant to a 40w Bounty with a Poblano plant.

OK, don't cringe too much. I took off two branches to level off the two plants, height wise. This is what I removed.

This one was a little tough. It was already split into two main branches. I took them both off. Today, there is significant new growth, already. You don't have to worry about taking off branches. As long as there are two full sets of true leaves you can prune above the node. I usually trim above the 3rd set.

they are looking good. when you prune are you saving them to replant? ( cloning i think they may call it) i did this with my tomatoes plants, as i read ( or heard) it will speed up the plants by about 30 days ( if you would go by planting seed ) i am also doing this with my cat's catnip plant as he does not want to wait for his plant to grow fully

I don't do any cloning, to be honest I haven't tried that. The front left plant is soon to be moved to another garden. I pruned the left rear to keep the plant as similar height wise as possible with the right plant. But as soon as I made the prune the new growth has the left plant bigger than ever. I fed them today, so I hope the right plant takes off soon.
It might be a better idea to move the large plant. I may have to dig out a 45w Bounty, if I do that. That way the 2 smaller plants (which are very similar size wise) can share the 60w light from the Farm. The large Cayenne then will still have a 45w light.
The other main reason I prune is to prevent a pepper plant from shooting straight into the lights. That way you can force the base of the plant to get larger and more durable. That way they can hold more peppers.
On AGs, pruning is often necessary just to keep the plant underneath max light height.

These are getting pretty tall. I will have to put up the supports, soon. I'm working on removing leaves underneath.

Your pepper pruning tips are extremely valuable, mike! I've wondered for a long time how you managed to grow such perfectly shaped, productive pepper plants. My peppers go in all directions, because I've never considered taking off big branches.

When you take branches off, more grow to fill the space. I start taking our leaves on the inside when I see buds. I only take a few at a time. This is to stop any type of shock the plant might get. I take those out a couple time a day. At some point I remove all leaves from the bottom six inches or so. After I do that, I leave the plant alone for a week.
