Is there a semi-reliable seed I can get to grow tomatoes in the Harvest? I ask only because I understand that since this hood only goes up to 12in then I really can't grow anything that gets too tall. This is also a problem I think I might have if I try to grow peppers in it. I wanted to try but I am moving the pepper idea to indoor tents and outdoor grow options.

I've had excellent luck growing AG's red heirloom cherry tomatoes in Harvests. I have two going now.
The kit probably comes with two tomato pods and four spacers, but it's been my experience that one will quickly overshadow the other (mostly killing it), then the one remaining plant that ends up occupying all available space. So, I generally plant one tomato plant per harvest, and it does fine.

I'd hate to lock down the only unit I have with one plant at this time. I do really want to do one though so my kids can walk by and pick them off and eat them whenever they want

carmen, Right now you have the Harvest only? If so to get the most for your money I would say grow your herbs. Maybe even try some lettuce. But if you ever do get another unit then try the tomatoes as you need the room.

I'm currently growing Micro Tom tomatoes in a Sprout. The plant is only 4.5" tall and the buds have just started opening. I'm growing a number of other dwarf varieties in containers (Red Robin, Yellow Canary, Tiny Tim), but it's my first time growing them so I can't speak to how big they get or how well they grow in an AG.

This vid is not mine but the Sprout's lights only go up 10". I am doing this same plant in a Sprout too.
I'm also growing the yellow/golden tomatoes in another Sprout... FWIW
