I have two Bounty gardens that I have planted with tomatoes and peppers. I over-planted these initially because I mistakenly thought that the number of pods in the box was indicative of the number of pods I should plant. Thanks, Aerogarden. I now know better, thanks to you good people here, so it has been a process of hacking my way through the jungle I had grown and deciding who got to live. Had to make some hard decisions. But here's what I have going now -- The Non-Deadly Nightshades of Chex Clovis. Bounty Full of Peppers -- I bought my first Bounty, and then went nuts on Aerogarden site ordering poblano, anaheim and banana peppers, and some Fairy Tale eggplants. Then I started one pod of each, and tossed in an AG cherry tomato and some scallions because it looked so empty. It ended up like this -- But over the last week or so, I have managed to trim it down to this -- And here they are, lined up like a trio of folk singers -- Poblano on the left, tall anaheim in the middle, and a sad little banana pepper that got to stay because it didn't take up too much real estate. Only a few flowers on the poblano so far. There might be something going on up top of the anaheim, but I can't see up there. (I have a step stool coming.) Bounty of Maters and Peppers -- The other Bounty started with three AG tomatoes and three AG jalapenos. No 'before pictures', but here's after I culled it down to two tomatoes and two jalapenos -- Still too much, but they all have little peppers and tomatoes and flowers. And now, we wait.

Yeah, with my first bounty I had 3 cherry tomato plants, 2 jalapeno and one chili pepper. It all grew enough to make it interesting.

I planted 7 pods of lettuce in my first AG, because the seed kit had 7 pods. You can imagine how that turned out. We all learn about spacing the hard way!

I terminated both of these gardens.
After more than 3 1/2 months, output was not impressive -- 4 sad little anaheims, 1 poblano, 4 ripe cherry tomatoes, and a handful of jalapenos.
I did keep using my Busy Bee, but the flowers just kept falling off.
My fault, really. Too crowded.
I have cleaned out the Bounties, but I'm going to have to do a pump clean, too, before I can replant because the roots got in there in both of them.
Once I do that, I'll try some Hatch chilis in one.
If I'm going to tie up an AG for three or more months, I want it to be something I cannot get at the store. And poblanos, anaheims and jalapenos are plenty cheap at the store. Hatch chilis, on the other hand, are only available for a little while in August and September, so goal is to find a way to have them all year long.
More later.

You get a little produce and it's cool, but... Now I usually do 1 pepper plant in a Bounty. They usually get to be around a yard wide with dozens of peppers. I think it is interesting, if we were planting outside we would space the plants as suggested, but the way the Aerogarden is presented it is easy to assume we can just grow 6 oak trees in a single Aerogarden.

Hmmm.... Oak trees.... Is that a challenge, tompepper7 ? We could have fun showing how many buckets of acorns we get from our Aerogarden oak trees.

Oak trees? Where's the fun in that? We can't eat acorns.
How about avocado trees?
