My Bounty Elite in platinum stainless arrived today ... and it is a DARK DECK! Unless my eyes are severely mistaken. I only peeked in the box, I haven't unpacked it yet.
Trust ye not in Internet product photos ... either that, or I got older stock, who knows?

Trust ye not in Internet product photos ... either that, or I got older stock, who knows? I live-chatted with someone at AG and they told me the deck was "lighter" and when I asked what color, they said "a light gray". They apparently just looked at the photo and told me what I had already seen, not the truth. I'm so angry with them! That is almost the only reason I didn't purchase the Elite.

That's so aggravating, CatHerder! But typical. CS often has no idea and just look at the product photos themselves. At least you tried to do your research and get what you wanted! I had a similar experience, wherein I bought a Bamix immersion blender. I loved the look of it in the product photos, sleek black blender on a light grey stand, but I was afraid that the photo might not be what I'd get. So I called to ask whether the product would look identical to the website photos. And was told it would, absolutely, be identical. Yeah, right... Naturally, it wasn't! Instead of getting what was pictured, I got a black blender on a black stand, which made it hard to for me to see and accurately grab from the stand. I sent it right back and exchanged it for the light color option, which, while not looking as sharp as the product photos I'd fell in love with, was at least easy for me to see. ( White/grey blender on grey stand.) Contrast counts when your eyes get old! I told them why I was unhappy and that I felt they were inaccurately representing the physical product. Now I don't see those same photos on their website any longer, so maybe they listened. Or maybe not. I do love the blender though!

Wow. This thing sucks on so many levels. Where does one start? Not even going to bother. But you do get four free spacers.

They are probably counting on folks who are new to Aerogarden buying this thing.
I can't see wanting it myself. I don't like the round raised rings on the deck, ruins the sleek appearance, and the black color of the deck to reduce algae is not enough incentive. As is, I barely see a trace of algae with my Harvest Elites. It's not even visible to the eye, it only shows up during a rinse and refill when I put a little vinegar on a paper towel and run it around the edge of the decks, which I do mostly to keep crust build up off. Occasionally, I see a slight trace of green on the paper towel after.
Adding some 3% food-grade hydrogen peroxide is easy enough to do each rinse and refill.
I also am not buying the "focused" light thing. I like a bit of light spillage, gives light for growing other things! I'm hoping to do that with microgreens and possibly wheatgrass.
As for the anemic looking pump, nope. Just nope.

And all those fine features for only 10 dollars more than what is now the Harvest 1.0.

I'll keep an eye out to see if Aerogarden Experiments takes a look at the 2.0

I kind of like the one-piece grow deck, if there was a big enough pump to keep the water aerated. It would certainly be much easier to clean than the finger-killing tabs on the 2-piece grow decks.
Also, I hate that the baskets don't fit down into the deck. What the hell? Top heavy plants will just swoon over the deck.

To my mind, the Harvest 2.0 is clearly a "dumbed down" AG. My plants grow much better in the 2-piece decks that have water circulating through. It's too bad that they didn't go back to the "fountain" pump that the pre-Bounty, Ultra models used, rather than switch to a Sprout pump. Thanks very much for the excellent You Tube link, pfunnyjoy!

You are so right about what will likely happen with top heavy plants. Just a suggestion: The two-piece grow decks can be separated by pushing the tabs with a cheap stainless steel knife (or two). The trick is to push one or two edge tabs below the deck surface, and then do the same with the nearest central tab (there are two of these on a Bounty, I think). At this point, the deck parts will stop snapping back together, and you can proceed methodically to push all the tabs down with your knife. I use the second knife to wedge the deck pieces apart while I'm getting the first three tabs pushed down.

I use the second knife to wedge the deck pieces apart while I'm getting the first three tabs pushed down. I find that a dishtowel used to pad my fingers works best to push the tabs. I use butter knives to hold the deck pieces apart until I loosen enough tabs. It's nice that after a couple of times the decks come apart easier.

If anyone is interested in getting the previous Harvest model before they disappear, Walmart.com has a set on Clearance that includes a “1.0” Harvest (black color) with 6 gourmet herb pods AND the Seed Sprouting System (deck with 23 sponges) for $65 and free shipping ( www.walmart.com/ip/AeroGarden-Harvest-with-Seed-Starting-System-Indoor-Garden-Black/878594035). I got one to make a matching pair with the Harvest I already have and plan to start some flowers for my outdoor garden I think the 2.0 update will help to curb my future Aerogarden purchases…I won’t be tempted to buy it 😁

Nice find !!!

LoveSalads, you very nearly sent me off to buy a couple of those Harvests! Just in time, I remembered that I don't really like the Harvests, except for growing microgreens. Whew!

...perhaps Aerogarden will improve the Harvest 2.0 by adding AI, totally what was missing...
