Between this plant and the old GAL in the ultra, I just harvested 20 bright orange Bulgarian Carrots. Chopped into rings and put them in a pint sized mason jar with some water, vinegar, salt and minced garlic for a good pickling.
Filled the better part of the jar, too.

I'm seeing a few more red Jalapenos on this garden.
Hoping to see a few new Bulgarian carrots as well, but they don't seem as prolific

This garden is also suffering hard from my neglect during the dark months. Not clear if I can nurse it back to full health.
But, at one point, I did get a significant harvest out of the Bulgarian Carrots, and with the final Carrots from the GAL, I made some really tasty salsa that I took in to work. Frankly, I'm amazed it hasn't gone bad by now, but my boss won't let me throw it out because he absolutely loves the stuff. And I must admit that the fruitiness of the Carrots made it some of the better salsa I've had, especially cray-cray given that I made it. Most of my prior attempts to make salsa have been passable, but less than outstanding.

Maybe it became lactose-fermented accidentally, which is even tastier than regular.

Terminated after a successful run. Gonna get one last batch of Bulgarian Carrot salsa out of this.

These sounded like they were really good. Worth growing again.

Really liked the Bulgarians, but the skin's a bit thick for pickling. But, my boss loved the salsa I made with a previous batch.
