I have 2 bountys, older style without working light hoods. My fix was 45watt AG light panel and, the Adapter for connecting power supply of said light panel to the Bounty. www.amazon.com/dp/B001IZ0W5Y?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=120231222_192543 by I also have worked on the Bounty light hood itself after discovering the light panel was ok , just the power supply was broken. Removing the power supply from the light hood is about as easy as taking your water pump out and removing the roots and, cleaning the pump. Just more screws involved. 20240406_084508 by This is the power supply I purchased for that as it will hook directly up to the Bounty and ,has the female connector for your light hood. This repair is much cheaper ,$20 vs the AG 45w light panel and power supply adapter/connector. They both seem to work well. Anyway as these units age things will fail hopefully this will save a few old Bounty's from the landfill. If you have an older bounty and it is broken I will gladly take it off your hands. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095VWHPCC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1 20240406_084444 by

LoveSalads, that is a really valuable post! I'm extremely interested in keeping my existing AGs going for as long as possible, now that the new models are coming out (only the Harvest 2.0 for now).

When you used the Aerogarden light in the top pic, how did you mount it so that it is that high? My Ultra LED light is not working again and that unit is the same as the old style Bounty but with less holes on the grow deck. Also, in the 2nd pic you mounted the non-working light hood and just used the power supply in the link to connect the original Bounty hood to the Bounty instead of the cord that Aerogarden uses? Thanks for posting this. Its very useful.

Thanks for the info. What I was asking about the power supply. The power supply you purchased from Amazon - do you plug it into the light hood or into the base? I have a 45 watt Aerogarden light attached to a jump start system like you show in your link but it hangs way too low. I will try to figure something out with pvc pipe like you did. I had been focusing on how to lift the jump start light higher but maybe I need to focus on using the pvc pipe to make a taller stand. Thanks for your help

I had been focusing on how to lift the jump start light higher but maybe I need to focus on using the pvc pipe to make a taller stand. Thanks for your help I have several jump starts. I used 3/4 inch conduit, 2- 5 foot pieces so you only have to buy 1 10 foot piece(std size). At the top and bottom you square your round conduit using channel locks or, vice grips and slowly squeeze till it squares off. Then It will fit the jump start hardware like it was made for it. Or you can buy 3/4 inch 600psi pvc pipe(red letter stuff) and no messing around, fit the jump start hardware. No modification needed. It makes both those stands 5 feet which is plenty for most all my needs. One jump start I went 6 foot it became less stable. ooooooooops The power supply plugs into the Aerogarden. The cord going from your Aerogarden to the light hood is the one you plug into the power supply I bought from amazon. That power supply has its own cable you plug into the light hood after you pull the power supply out of said light hood and wire the leds to the connector supplied with the power supply bought off amazon. It is less work just buying the AG 45w light panel and the adapter and hooking it up that way but, I liked only spending $20 vs probably over $100 depending on sale prices or lack there of.

The fix where I removed the internal power supply from the light hood and hook up an external supply a $20 brick from amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095VWHPCC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1It is super bright so I decided to check the wattage it was using. I have never had a light hood this bright. 20240409_220927 This should be a great light for growing peppers and taller cherry toms giving deep light penetration . I am researching to try and find out if I need to limit the panel wattage at 45watts or let this ride. Anyone have a brighter than normal Aerogarden light hood ? As of now I have disconnected it using another light in its place until I figure it out. Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Being that I am trying to save power usage I will stick to the AG 45watt light panel which is less intense and will not fry my little seedlings I am attempting to start.

Thanks so much for your detailed reply. I am still a little confused. I currently have the Aerogarden 45 watt light attached to my jump start and it hangs down like your light does in the last picture. It hangs down around 11 inches. The side posts on my jump start are 29 inches which leaves me around 18 inches underneath. However, the Ultra LED bowl is 6 inches high which brings me down to roughly 12 inches or less under the light. So you are saying remove the current 29 inch posts and replace them with conduit and cpvc pipe. Cut a 10 foot piece in half gives me 5 ft or 60 inches instead of 29 inches. So a gain or around 30 inches which should work. In your photo though it appears that your unit now is so tall it almost reaches the ceiling? Or is yours on a shelf of some kind? Also do I place the cpvc pipe inside the conduit and square off the edges to fit in the jump start brackets? Sorry for all the questions!

swimmom500 yes you remove the 29" square tubes and replace them with either the 3/4 "CPVC or the 3/4" conduit. That is 2 different stands. I tried it both ways and decided the CPVC is much easier cause ir's plug n play no modifications required. I give 15" to the light mounting hardware and, 7" for the AG. that's 22" . That gives you 38" of plant height. Mine are abit taller at 63" I believe because I had that laying around and cut the other 10' (foot) piece to the same height. So of course you can go taller I would not go past 6 feet with the CPVC just for wobble reasons while adjusting height. I just went 89" in my room for the back to back AG's I'm growing tall cherry toms with. We will see how that plays out. I did support 1 side at the ceiling so it won't swing back and forth. At 6 feet you would have 4 feet of plant room....... So you don't put 1 pipe inside the other you replace it. Add- Yes those are on knee high cabinets

I was fascinated by the view out the window in your pic. Are you right on a lake, LoveSalads?

I was fascinated by the view out the window in your pic. Are you right on a lake, LoveSalads ? Yes Sir 41+ years. Was Chicago burbs for many years and come up on the weekends. About 12 years ago moved over here and haven't looked back. It's a smallish 450 acre lake but the family has tons of fun in the summer on it. Have lived on the east n west coast and lots of places in-between but this place is home I like it. Sometimes we get like 36 people here on Holidays gets abit Kra Kra....zy...

I am going to get the pipe and give this is try. Sounds easy enough. I was wondering about that lake in the background too! Looks nice and relaxing.

Here's a possible light that might work if one needs something more ready made. Just found it on Amazon the other day, and I could potentially see using something like this. Can be used hanging or with the included adjustable stand. LetPot 60W Plant Grow Light
