3 days and nothing showing.
I might have action in one pod, but the hole in the AG sponge is so deep, I can't really see into it, even with a flashlight. And the deep hole may be the problem.
I'll give it another day, but then I might switch and use some of my Park seed sponges.
EDIT: Couldn't stand it, took off the foil covers, got a better look. Action in the one I thought I saw action in! No action in the other. I dropped in 2 more seeds. Fingers crossed!
EDIT2: Also took a pH reading, ACK! Up to 8.5. Have added 1.5ml pH Down direct to the garden.
EDIT3: pH is back down to a happy 6.0 an hour later. Huzzah!

All is going well so far. The first sprout has a true leaf out, and the second pod, the second two seeds I dropped in both sprouted, one leggy, one not, so I thinned the leggy one. I've moved both pods to the furthest apart they can be. Checked pH yesterday, it was holding at 6.0, and EC was at 1.1.
I'm hoping my precision dropper/syringe thingie arrives tomorrow, I'd like to add just a little cal/mag, perhaps 0.5ml, since our water is soft. But I don't want to overdo with the very young plants.

Nice. Tatsoi loves a Harvest -- Be sure to check out my Tasty Tatsoi Treats posts in the What's Cooking subforum. Tatsoi -- It's not just for stir fry.

You are brave! And yeah, with that many plants, you'll definitely want to keep up on the harvesting. Tatsoi is a very generous green! Mine grew more OUT than upright, but I notice you have your lights further up, is that deliberate to get them to stretch and grow more upright? If so, I might have to try that strategy!
And maybe some of your Tatsoi treat ideas too.
I like just tossing some in with scrambled eggs to wilt. I'm not much of a cook, LOL! I also like as sautéed greens. I juice them for green juice with various other ingredients a lot!

The tatsoi sandwiches were my favorite. It was actually a converted watercress sandwich recipe, which was really just bread, butter, watercress, and whatever else you have that sounds tasty. And the Egg Foo Young with Tatsoi is just a variation on your scrambled eggs and wilted greens. I also like tossed salad and scrambled eggs. I see you have watercress going, too. I'll be watching to see how that goes. (Already have some of those seeds in my Baker Creek rareseeds basket.)

If watercress doesn't work, I have some Upland Cress seeds! But so far, the watercress looks happy, though early days yet.

I can't wait for my chives to grow up so I can try to replicate that picture. I guess for tomorrow it will be Bacon ,Egg n, cheese . That will have to suffice for now.

That will have to suffice for now. I know. Scrambled eggs and salad is a favorite breakfast of mine too! We had a freeze warning last night (didn't happen) so hubby got busy harvesting cherry tomatoes from the volunteer vine out front, and we've got piles of them in the kitchen now, some ripe, some just orange. I think scrambled eggs with cherry tomato halves is on the menu, plus I'll probably juice some too, LOL! The little Tatsois are coming along, best growth on the right, but that's the first sprout, vs. the other pod where I had to replant. I really want my Bounty Basics to arrive (tracking says next Wednesday), because I'd like to put a garden on the left of the Harvest with the Tatsoi, so they get spillover light from both sides, since the pods are as far away from each other as I can get them. These look to be growing out rather than up as well. I'm thinking Italian Dandelion or Mizuna or possibly both in the same garden.

Because of light frosts I ran out and grabbed the best of the Sugar Baby Tomatoes outside. This is the best I could come up with but, is no Clovis Sangrail scrambled eggs and wilted greens eye candy. It was an awesome BLT. That's wonderful Merlot underneath those 1/2 Toms. 20241018_193456 I also processed a basket full of Bell Peppers n Lunch Box peppers. Tis the frosty time of year I guess. I still have Broccoli growing hopefully it keeps going.

2024-10-19: Day 14 Rinse and refill day.
CaliMagic 1.0ml Maxigro 3.0g Hydrogen Peroxide 3% 5.0ml
Nutrient mix pH: 6.5 Nutrient mix EC: 1.1
Plants are small but growing nicely. Right-hand plant is 3" wide, the left-hand plant about 2.25". I'm sure it will catch up.
EDIT: URG! Plants took a sudden DROOP after their rinse and refill. Hopefully it is just a temporary thing. I didn't take long about it, the plants were lifted out, I dumped the water, rinsed the tank, filled it half full, had the plants back in. Then I carried it to the office and filled the rest of the way. The nutrients had been sitting for about an hour or so after mixing, so I couldn't have aggravated them with a big temperature change.

2024-10-21: Day 16Plants recovered from their droop. All going well, the right-hand plant is the first sprout, the left-hand plant is the pod I had to reseed. It'll catch up. I'm planning to put another garden on that side, so it'll get some extra light spillover then.

My Tatsoi grows SO FLAT! I raised the lights a tad, just to see if I could encourage the plants to be more upright, but nope, they aren't having any of that! The plants are literally no more than 2" tall at 36 days.
Harvesting fairly regularly now, they are picked down smallish today, as I made a green juice this morning and wanted a handful in that.

2024-11-16: Day 42Rinse and refill. Growth has slowed, so I’m going to give more nutrition. Checking the EC after 14 days and it is at 0.5, yikes! No wonder growth slowed up! Roots were in the pump filter sponge a little, so I trimmed. It will be interesting to see how the plants do in the smaller Harvest reservoir. My old AG units had .85 gallons compared to .594 gallons for the Harvest units. But that's why I want to see what happens in a Harvest. They sure don't need much light height, so if I can happily grow them in a Harvest as well as in a larger unit, that's a plus. Nutrients: 2.0ml GH CALiMAGic 6.6g GH MaxiGro 5.0ml 3% food-grade Hydrogen Peroxide pH: 6.0 EC: 2.4 See how flat they grow?
