With Aerogarden it was quite easy to buy an initial Aerogarden then decide you need another, and another, and another.... Is anybody thinking, my Aerogardens will last anywhere from another 1-3 years, I think I will check out grow tents and maybe slowly piece something together to be ready before my Aerogardens all fail?

The thought crosses my mind here and there, but I suspect I would just consider using some lights with stands, or other garden systems. Mostly I grow greens, and though some are taller greens, I suspect I can find something that will work. For tomatoes, I'm only really interested in doing the micro dwarfs, and those aren't a problem for most garden systems. Peppers might be tougher, but I could probably work something out. I'll likely be hitting 70/72 about the point the AGs have failed, presuming they last 4-5 years, so I may not be wanting to bother anyway, depending on how my back is doing. So I'm not worrying excessively about the future of my indoor gardening, no.

Looking at grow tents after this post I see this:
...about the right size for my two back to back Bounty Elite's (sometimes with a height extender for the light). Thinking this would have prevented aphids on my Brussels Sprouts and Thai Chilis. So I ordered one to check it out. Believe it would work with another light source and growing medium. So toe in the water.

My gardens set below cabinets so I need a fairly shallow unit like my bounties :-(

I'll probably just go with another system, hopefully one that has replacement parts like new LEDs always available.

I think you will like your grow tent. I have a x3x3x6 that houses the Ckerokee Purple Slicer. I have removed the material and now just use the frame as it was blocking me from the drawers in the dresser. It also was getting warm with the 100 watt light at the top. You can clip a fan in there, hang your light/s, use Tomato support clips, etc all. They can be very customized to you liking. I do have a shower curtain on the front of it to block some light but it moves right out of the way to trim ,pollinate and, water the plant. 20240507_131101

The grow tent arrived and I think it needs some air circulation. Checking the included literature I see, "Intro to Growing Hemp", not sure what variety of tomato this is. The other documentation was more helpful showing fan and filter setup either inside or outside the tent. Since the tent height is correct for an extended Bounty light I will investigate the outside tent setup.

We can always add a Grow Tent board ...for myself, this will be a toe in the water using the grow tent for a couple Bounty Elites, partly due to aphids covering my previous Thai chilis and partly to see how a tent works. At this point I am not sure if I would want to investigate other Aerogarden type systems or move to something like a more customizable grow tent. Considering something like growing tomatoes in an Aerogarden Farm vs in a grow tent, much less a Farm Plus with lettuce and a Farm XL with tomatoes stacked. I would just start this, when set up, in the Member's Garden area unless others are interested in exploring these options.

How do you folks manage irrigation when using a grow tent.
Someday I will need to replace my bounties and irrigation is my major worry.

Less to suggest you buy one now than to show what there is. My last bounty was $249. The $239 tent option has less height, the $269 tent option has a lot more space. As I suspected, the tent, a light, and ventilation system is considered minimal requirements.

I unzip the tent entrance when I had 1 and pour the water/nutrients in my grow unit. I have since removed the outer shell and just use the frame to hang my light ,Tomato clips/support and, a fan. I have a movable/sliding shower curtain on the front to keep the light in when need be.

They seem to have good instructions and videos for setting up their products. I'd love to try a grow tent, but don't have space for one. I'm happy with my tall Farm XLs, anyway.
