Today I started two new AG gardens. In a Farm 12XL, I planted one pod (2 seeds) each of Homeslice and Taxi tomatoes. The Taxi will move to its own Farm 12XL when the current Farm gets crowded. I've never grown Taxis before, but scarfguy has had much success with them. In a Bounty wireless, I planted 4 pods (2 seeds each) of Sweet Heat peppers. These are intended for pickling. All the seeds are older, and they come from Seeds n Such, Totally Tomatoes, and True Leaf Market, respectively. However, all these seeds are currently available from Etsy. (Apparently you can combine orders from different Etsy sellers into a single purchase--if that's true, it sure saves on shipping.) Now I have one Farm 12XL (slicing tomatoes), and three Bounties (Orange Hat tomatoes, Merlot lettuce, Sweet Heat peppers) in play. No doubt I'll be planting more petunias soon.

OOH! OOH!... did I hear somebody say, "petunias".
Etsy allows you to combine purchases from multiple vendors only in the sense that you can make a single payment for the total amount. Your order will go to each vendor independently and you will be charged separate shipping as appropriate for each vendor.

Oh, I see. I guess my seeds shipping was free because my particular Etsy seed sellers weren't charging for shipping. I think I'll be buying more Etsy seeds, because Burpee, Park, Johnny's, etc. add huge shipping charges even when they send packets by USPS first class mail.
