Inspiration! I got my Starter and planted a lot of chives as well as the 3 pods I had going in the Sprout before I saw your starter project. After the lettuce pods are harvested I will again 'copy' you and plant some basil. Yet again I am inspired by Mary!

Whoa, we just had quite a growth spurt. Chives extending past the hood And the lettuce basil basil keeps getting bigger Look at how far these leaves extend out! I laid one down the entire length of my wrap sandwich.

I will have to try that basil. Oops I just saw this. Im sorry I missed it, it was the last post on the prior page. I’d be happy to send you and any others some of these seeds. It’s a fun and different basil. Anyone who wants some just PM me.

I consumed some chives and basil in sandwiches and soups. Good thing, as it’s starting to get crowded in there! Next up I need to use up some of that cilantro. I just made a batch of pinto beans, so there’s a good opportunity.

I recently thinned this garden out, particularly the cilantro because I made homemade burritos, and it’s been really good for the garden. As a result, thankfully, I was able to lower the hood a bit, such that I could open the overhead cabinet again. I can’t believe this garden still looks so manageable.

I am especially impressed with the chives. Mine are always spindly from the kit.

C'mon..you KNOW you will miss that 'someone" when they're gone! Yes and NO. The part of doing the cleaning and laundry yes. THe part when I am sleeping and she comes barging in without knocking, throwing away important papers, rearranging cabinets because SHE thinks they should be that way (I made her put them back and the ones I can reach I did myself) and I can go on and on. I will not miss. Mark LOVES having her here but he even said he time has come. She will come back in two weeks for the weekend.

She still sees you as her daughter, and mothers take care of their daughters..especially when they are in a fragile state. She's just fulfilling her vocation, even though she is disinfecting everything and killing all the plants in the process, and driving you and Hubby insane! LOL

I am especially impressed with the chives. Mine are always spindly from the kit. I planted 10 chive seeds in each pod to achieve the density. It really seems to work better that way. I suspect the kit pods are sown with only 3-5 seeds.

It’s at the stage that I have to chop the chive tops every couple days to keep them even with the other herbs. Fine by me!

I just sprinkle them over anything and everything. They’re so easy that way. And they taste good with everything.

Just eat it with a spoon, lol. This is is how fast these grow back. The cut edges are a very recent cut, yet the remainder is already in the lights.
