That is different! To me , anyway because I always thought they didn't like water! For me that wouldn't fly, because I lack patience. I like to grow a project, let it finish , and try something else.I can't even wait for the everlasting Pepper Project for a mere 75 days ....... Cactus plants last for an eternity!
an aside: speaking of cactus..did you know that the Sahara, contrary to popular belief is NOT the largest desert in the world?. Nope ...the largest desert is the Antarctic Polar Desert!!!

I've wondered this since I have a serious succulent "problem" in my apartment. It's neat to know it does work, though not sure I want to give up a machine basically forever for them.

I, too, only recently learned they like water. Who knew? Contrary to everything I’ve ever heard about them.

A couple years ago, I saw an AG ad for upcoming projects. It included pictures of the Myers Lemons and a cactus. Neither of those produced seed kits for sale. I now have seeds for Myers lemons, but no cactus. And both take too long to grow.

I was pretty sure that I would never do this, but I was looking at the machine behind my kitchen sink and decided to go for it. It's too far back to tend easily, so something slow growing was the way to go, and I wanted something more attractive there anyway. I'm only feeding once a month and the pump currently runs every 8 hours. I might extend that time depending on how they do. So far they seem very happy. Succulents don't particularly care if you damage the roots, so washing out the dirt didn't seem to stress them one bit. The one plant started blooming within a week. Since these have done so well, I may try to squeeze in one or two more varieties.

I am surprised but doubtful this would produce a healthy cacti. They are fairly east to grow so why take up space in the AG? I have 2 nice dishes with succulents that get light and sunshine from windows and are also under grow lights.
Thanks for the information though.

I have never tried to grow a cactus in the aerogarden. But recently I got a few clippings off of a Christmas Cactus from my Grandmother. I have one in soil and the other in a Kratky set up on a windowsill . Both are doing great so i believe you could do it in an aerogarden. Ill snap a few pics in a few minutes.

Thanks everyone! I started them from small clippings. There were 3 or 4 shoots tall and they've started to branch out. Still very new plants. They took a while to root then started growing great. They already flowered.. How? I have no idea but beautiful none the less. Now they seem to be focusing on their green growth. I'm happy with them so far. I cant wait until they are huge and start blooming. To see a bunch of flowers all at once would be great. Hoping for more flowers around Christmas haha!!!.
Does anyone know what promotes the flowering on these plants? I didnt do anything special. Just rooted them and planted and they flowered quickly.
I know I have some pics but I need to look for them. I will post if I find them.
