Beautiful colors! I have not been out back to see mine after the rains, but I will go out today and take a peek and see if they are still alive.

I can say that these endure the heat exceptionally well and seem to love the sun. They get sun in the afternoon mostly.

well, my outdoor celosia is not worth even taking a snap..they are so washed out as to color. I bought some from the garden center and put them in my EB's that had the green beens and those are a vibrant red/orange. These were in the wrong soil from the start and suffered.
Today I went out and right above them on the cross bar was a portion of home-made pizza crust as big as my hand just waiting to be put into the hanging basket in anticipation of the hurricane remnant rains that are supposed to reach us for the next few days steady. Smart little buggers! But they are driving me nuts!

I have no idea how I missed this. Oh No! I hope they are leaving you alone. Mine are starting to putter a bit. Although it looks like some new shoots want to form. I guess we will see. The right bucket is doing better then the left. You can see the stalks thinning and the leaves yellowing.

Oh I also found the following. Maybe with all this rain we have been having is why mine are not doing well and have yellow flowers.
How to care for celosia flower?
To enjoy the bright color of Celosia flowers they need moist well-drained soil, they love organic amendments that improve drainage, as celosia does not like wet conditions. A rich soil will support fast growth. Before planting add in plenty of manure, organic matter or compost.

I have no idea how I missed this. Me too. I am cry-laughing at the pizza crust. Oh Corinne, the critters in your garden are intent upon tormenting you!

These will be coming to an end soon. The colors are fading and there is no new growth.

I have not been able to go out in the yard these days. The weather is very cool(got the heat on now) and rainy, and the colors are popping! It is a true fall flower. I have done absolutely nothing to them for a month and they are thriving out there.
Another thing too..my marigolds dried as the summer went along and I neglected to deadhead. The seeds that fell on the ground are now blooming plants 2x as big as the originals!!! Some plants just prefer the cool rainy weather.

That is wonderful. I think maybe mine bloomed to early and ran their course.
That is great that the marigolds are growing again. d45692

These have come to an end. Well they did a couple weeks ago after the first freeze. They are now brown and dry and placed in the garbage.
