Started my other pepper grow this morning. The first is the Mini Jalapeño kit from AG. I planted a single pod. The other is the Admiral Hybrid bell pepper seed from Park Seed. It was planted in an AG sponge. For this grow I’ll be using GH nutes supplemented with Mooch along the way. Initial feeding was a 1:1:1 ratio of the GH nutes.

These two are off and running. The good news (for me) is that because they were two weeks behind the others I hadn’t had time to screw up the nutes yet. They’ll be fed tomorrow with AG nutes. Admiral Hybrid Mini Jalapeño

Off to a nice start. I have to tell you I think we ALL had some failed projects in the beginning. I know I did.

First R&R for these two today. Fed them with 16ml of AG nutes. We’ll see how they respond. Admiral Mini Jalapeño You can’t see it in the photo, but the Mini Jalapeño has a lead spot on the far leaf where I t touched the dome just a bit before I could get it off. Otherwise it looks fine.

Those brown spots do happen at first if they touch the dome and even if you rub p against them. But they look healthy.

These two were looking good when I checked in on them this morning. The Mini Jalapeño looks healthy, but also ever so slightly more pale than the Admiral. Not in a bad way. Just thought it was interesting. Mini Jalapeño The Admiral

Yes they look healthy. But are indeed two different plants and can differ in some colors

These two got an R&R yesterday. They were fed with GH Flora nutes in a 2:2:2 ratio (10ml each). The Mini Jalapeño is moving along now. And The Admiral appears to be living up to its name with an already commanding stature.

It’s Day 36 for these plants. They got their first trim for FIM’ing a couple of days ago, so they look odd at the moment. They doing quite well though. Excited to see what another couple of weeks will do for these two. Admiral Mini Jalapeño

I also wouldn't worry too much about the appearance of the mini-jalapeno. That strain is darn near unkillable.

R&R for these plants today. Fed with GH Flora series nutes in a 2:2:2 ratio. The Admiral has some new side shoots thanks to the FIM pruning. The Mini Jalapeño continues to grow ever so slowly. The Admiral may be fighting it for nutes, but I think it’ll be okay. Still looking awkward from the pruning. Tiny little side shoots have started to appear though.

Well, let’s start with the good news. The Admiral continues to thrive. Hopefully that continues. Now for the bad news: The Mini Jalapeño has something wrong. I suspect it was the pepper leaf spot bacteria others had previously mentioned when I was having issues with nute burn. This looked different, and because the plant has just never quite looked healthy to me I decided to take it down. Again, this plant is gone now. Only The Admiral remains in this unit.
