I've grown the kale before and I like adding a leaf or two to my salads. I'm trying the broccolini for the first time to see if it will fit in a farm. As with the broccoli I've grown before, it's definitely happy enough. It's just a matter of whether or not it will bloom before it hits the lights.

This was both a success on the plant's part and then a bit of a fail on my part. The Aspabroc Hybrid seeds will fit in a Farm Plus, with enough headroom that I'm comfortable calling this one a success. A few leaves might grow into the lights, but the heads won't. With the new Farm XLs, it will be a bit easier to find broccoli varieties that will fit. These seeds are definitely a pricier variety. And then came a whole bunch of busy and a depression flare-up and all of a sudden my babies weren't getting the love they needed. They are far from the only plants that aren't looking their best, but they were the hardest hit. I think it is best to start over with these, unfortunately. I had to choose my battles these past few weeks, and the plants just weren't that high on my list. Spacing could also be better- I think two broccolini plants should get their own side without trying to squeeze in the kale. If I do a full Farm for the two- broccolini on one side and 4 kale plants on the other I think they will all be happier and I'll have a better kale supply for munching.
