mike, I have had that happen on multiple occasions. It appears that only those first set of leaves are turning. If so I just snipped them off and the rest of the plant grew fine. Is that that the case with you as well?

It looks like you are correct, Shawn. It only seems to be affecting the first true leaves. That's good. It looks like I will be topping almost all of the new pepper plants. Perhaps the Pumpkin Spice will be left alone. I really want to see the progress after the first Mooch is added.

I remember tossing plants when I saw the purple. Then I left it once and it was only thst set. I am glad you will keep them. I look forward to watching these. I know I keep saying that but I need to get new seeds and these are all contenders.

Yes, I see these as very important for a new sauce flavor. Full habanero flavor without the extreme heat.

These plants are getting a bit leggy. I will need to top them in less than two weeks. I am counting on these for this years main batch of hot sauce. I already have the flavor profile in my head. Added 24 ml Nutes, 20 ml Mooch.

I need to look at mine to see how they are growing. While you say they are leggy they still look healthy.

Leggy is an old term I guess. I mean they are getting tall fast without the sturdy base the mild pepper plants have. They haven't branched off, either. I'm going to force them to branch out.

No frickin' way, not yet! These all need to go. And they are on all plants in one day. Not before I top these next week. I snipped 12 buds from the four plants.

I have some itty bittyies on the sweet pepper plants as well. Those are hard to get to. I may let those stay because of the already strong bases.

Thanks for the updates Mike. Be sure to post pictures of the before and after when you top the plants. I am curious how much you are going to cut off and where you decide to cut.

I am really worried that these are suffering from plant edima. I'll post more on this later.

This is what I'm talking about. Edema is not bacterial. It is usually environmental. It's not absorbing water properly so the cells blister. It's usually caused by poor air circulation or crowding. But it can also be the nutrients. The circulation in the room is pretty good and there is no crowding.

Saturday, I'm dumping the water on this garden and the Numex Pumpkin garden. I'm not happy with either.

I just dumped the water on both sides and refilled with tap water. I've noticed a couple of gnats particularly interested in these plants. They don't seem interested in the other plants.
