Bigger! Soon it’ll be ready to be topped! (If you plan on topping it, that is.)

mike? Have you grown this before? Did you top it?
Since the height of this is 18 to 24 inches I think I may. It might keep it shorter.

No, I've never grown these. I had seeds for them, but I recently did a purge on older seeds, and that was one of them. This is a much longer pepper, up to a foot long. Because of the pepper weight, I'd definitely top them. Give the base time to grow sturdy.
One other thing, I don't thing these will grow much longer than 7" on an AG. To me, that's a good thing. I don't think I've ever had a longer pepper on the AG than 8".

I saw that they grow up to 9" and thought in the AG and with topping they would not get that long.

Here is the latest. No buds just leaves and branches. Too early to top? mike ? Should I wait for more shoots to top? (see second picture for closeup. This Sunday will be his first Mooch feeding.

I'd wait another week. But it is growing quickly. Looks good.

Thanks, I will do that. Plus we will see what Mr. Mooch does to it after adding it on Sunday.

Big Jim had his two lowest and largest leaves removed. I do not know if this one should be topped or not either. It is shorter and was planted a week after the GAL plant. Anyway, here is the plant and two close ups of the top.
I may remove two more large leaves over the weekend.

Looks like a dense plant, so may not need topping. (But you pepper folks know more than me).

I never topped Big Jim and do not know if I should at this point or not. So I guess I will just leave it. I turned the plant and also cut the four largest lowest leaves off. Here is a closeup and a distance shot.
